A DAY IN FORMENTERA:
Cross to the neighboring island:
It is worth dedicating a day of your holiday in Ibiza to go to Formentera. Half an hour away by ferry and in less than 12 hours, you can get an idea of what the island is like.
The first time you set foot on the island it seems magical. Its port of entry, its small size, its crystal clear waters, its sun and its slow pace; They make you travel to all those small Mediterranean islands that we have anchored in our collective memory

La Savina port:
The port is the only entrance to the island. It is a small and quiet port, with its typical promenade where you will find terraces, beach bars, souvenir shops, boat rental stores and diving centers such as Vellmarí, a diving classic run by biologist Manu San Félix, who also works for National Geographic and continues as a tireless defender of the Mediterranean. You also can’t miss their clothing and necklace stalls and stroll around and buy cotton dresses for your days on the islands. At the end of the port is the fishermen’s beach and a sandy path that you can travel by bicycle that takes you to the Illetes Beaches: some of the most beautiful in the world.
To Eat:
Have breakfast on the terrace of the Molo Cafe or restaurants such as Café del Lago, with delicious Italian food and views of the s’Estany d’es Peix lagoon, Can Carlitos if you fancy rice and Panperfoccacia for a pizza for dinner if you are looking for a sea breeze while you watch the people come and go through the marina.
Sant Francesc Xavier, the Capital
Walk through the Plaza de Sant Francesc, see its church, its bars and shops, its atmosphere in the morning, tourists and residents walking, working or going to buy bread…
Discover the Fonda Platé, mythical on the island, the Bar del Centre, stroll through the streets and discover its shops, the Can Jeroni bakery with its ensaimadas, flaos and salty cokes.
To swim in Illetes:
You have to visit the beaches of Illetes, some of the most beautiful beaches in the world, turquoise waters, white sand… and eat at the Tanga Restaurant or at the Molí de Sal. And if you prefer something different, just on the other side, the Levante beaches offer a wilder side of paradise.
A walk through Sant Ferran:
Or you can stop in Sant Ferran de Ses Roques and see its square, with the legendary Fonda Pepe and see the new stores with things for the home and details for you.
For breakfast:
Blat Picat, with organic breakfasts.
For dinner:
Macondo, delicious pizzas and pasta
MIgjorn:
Head to Migjorn with its wonderful beaches and coves, more solitary and bohemian, but equally idyllic and with crystal-clear waters. You will find the legendary Blue Bar, famous for being the cocktail bar where the full moon parties and their Alien Show were held. And much more recent, although also very well known, the 10.7 Beach Club, unsurpassed for its sea views and excellent Italian cuisine.
La Mola:
And you can still climb La Mola, just 22km from the port of La Savina. Get to know its Artisan Market on Wednesdays and Sundays and the Can Toni Bar. Come to the lighthouse and have a drink at Codice Luna and you’ll still have time to take the ferry and get home at dinner time. Although you can also stay in Formentera until the last minute and return to Ibiza late at night. There are early morning ferries!
